Vice President Kamala Harris has recently called for a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. She expressed serious concerns during a discussion with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.
Harris emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and requested the release of Palestinian hostages. She also highlighted the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, describing the situation as devastating with images of dead children and people fleeing from their homes multiple times.
“We cannot ignore the suffering,” Harris said. “It’s crucial to stop the violence, bring the hostages home, and provide much-needed relief to the people in Gaza.”
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was in the U.S. to meet with President Joe Biden, who is also pushing for a ceasefire and a deal to address the crisis. The conflict began on October 7 after Hamas launched an attack on Israel.
