Victor Osimhen Expected to Leave Napoli, Confirms Coach Antonio Conte

Napoli’s new coach Antonio Conte has said that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is likely to leave the club this summer.

During a recent summit with the club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, Conte confirmed that there is an agreement in place between the club and Osimhen that allows the player to leave this summer.

Conte said.

“I know about his situation and that there’s an agreement with the club, so it’s different from other cases,”

“There’s a mutual understanding between Victor and Napoli about his future, and I accepted that.”

For several months, there have been reports linking Osimhen with a move away from the Italian club. Now, it is confirmed that the Nigerian striker will join a new team this summer.

Osimhen has been a crucial player for Napoli, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances across all competitions. He has emerged as one of the hottest strikers in world football due to his consistent performance.

The 25-year-old forward was the top scorer as Napoli won the Serie A title, known as the Scudetto, in the 2022-23 season. His exceptional performance also earned him the African Footballer of the Year award last year.

Paris Saint-Germain is currently the frontrunner to sign Osimhen. However, other top clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United have also shown strong interest in acquiring the talented striker.

Osimhen’s departure will mark the end of a significant chapter for Napoli, but it will also open a new chapter in his career as he moves to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
