Bandits have driven the people of Bassa, a farming community in Niger State, to flee their homes after a violent attack that killed 20 people.
Senator Sani Musa, who represents Niger East Senatorial District, shared the tragic news on Friday, describing the beheading and killing of 20 young people and other residents in Bassa, located in Shiroro Local Government Area.
The senator explained that the attackers had beheaded 10 young people and killed another 10 residents because they allegedly refused to join the bandits’ group.
Three weeks ago, bandits attacked Kuchi Community, killing seven security officers and kidnapping about 150 people.
Senator Musa mentioned that the entire Kuchi community is still abandoned. These recent attacks are happening just as people are getting ready to return to farming, which is their main livelihood.V
